       "Leave them alone!" he shouted, and without thinking, he raised his arms above his head, several shards of light appeared, and as he threw his arms down, the shards rained down to the forest below, all directed at the fox demon. The fox yelped in fear, flames vanishing from himself, Shoku, and Saiyaku. The sin fled before the deadly shards could strike him. Jonah panted, and stared at his hands in awe before his wings vanished and he plummeted back to the ground.        Harsh wind tore across the bitter and barren wasteland. No tree would grow here, and no water would fall here. Yes, she had finally arrived at the Forbidden Badlands.

        So, on the night the demolition of the forest was to begin, Jonah, Shoku, and Saiyaku went down to wait for an attack. For a time, there was nothing but the sounds of the forest, and the voices of workers preparing to begin construction. Saiyaku tensed suddenly and whirled around. Jonah turned as well to see a boy who looked around fifteen. He had curly black hair and blue eyes. Far stranger were his long, pointed tea green ears atop his head, and the three, large foxlike tails that twitched behind him. The boy glared at Jonah, baring his pointed fangs, "The hell are you kami doing here?" The fox had found its next victims.        T
